Our History
American Bentonite International, Inc (ABI) was incorporated in Illinois in 1983 to market bentonite products. Over the years, ABI has developed markets worldwide for bentonite and other natural minerals by utilizing its strong technical expertise in the mineral field and focusing on the needs of the customer. As ABI has grown, it has expanded its services to provide logistics management to its customers, including transportation, inventory management and warehousing of products.
Over the years, ABI has acquired liquid bulk storage tanks, blending equipment and packaging capabilities to offer contract/ toll manufacturing services to customers. ABI has the capacity to re-package bulk materials into contractor packages and / or to manufacture products that can be packaged or shipped in bulk containers.
With over 30 years of experience, and now with a second generation managing the business, ABI has expanded from marketing bentonite products to being a complete logistics supplier for clays and other minerals and contract manufacturing services to industrial customers. ABI uses the same principles that it was founded upon to conduct business, quality and service. ABI will supply only the highest quality products and will provide unmatched customer service. As a company, ABI will continue to follow these principles to meet customers changing needs.
